Pumping Power to the Sky
This project took us to a commercial high-rise in Tampa with some unique challenges. We provided two custom pumpsets designed to keep critical standby power online:
One pumpset dedicated to the building
One pumpset dedicated to a tenant
Both pumpsets pull fuel from the same underground storage tank, but with the generators located on the roof more than 20 stories above, this project called for specialized, high-discharge pumps capable of overcoming the vertical lift and line losses.
To ensure fair fuel usage tracking, we also installed flow meters on the tenant pumpset so the building can accurately monitor and bill tenant consumption.
This job is a great example of how every high-rise comes with unique challenges, from vertical pumping demands to shared infrastructure—and how custom solutions are the key to long-term reliability.
