Tampa Hospital

Hospitals demand reliability—and when they’re located on an island just outside downtown Tampa, resilience against storm surge becomes just as critical.

For this project, we delivered a complete package of waterproof pumps and offloading stations designed to meet the hospital’s unique challenges:

  • DEF & Lube Oil Systems: The DEF tank and lube oil tanks are located on the third floor, 50 feet above grade. To get fluid that high, the system required pumps in the offloading stations. The waste lube oil tank sits on the second floor, with a dedicated cabinet port to pump waste oil out when needed.

  • Waterproof Transfer Pumps: By installing the pumps outside near the tanks, the design minimizes suction-side issues that might arise with long vertical lifts—ensuring smoother, more reliable operation.

  • Filtration Solution: For the same storm-resilience reasons, the hospital opted for a waterproof skidded filtration system. Compared to multiple PF-series filtration units, the skid offers broader capability, more features, and better long-term value.

This project highlights how thoughtful design and the right equipment ensure critical hospital systems remain protected and reliable, even in challenging coastal environments.
